Lady PMET jobless for 7 months and feeling depressed

Dear Gilbert

I am Stacy (name changed) and now 46 years old.

Have been jobless for the past 7 months. I have been sending out resumes on the job portal for some accounting and administrative jobs, mostly junior and entry level ones.

But only a couple of screening calls and one interview  to-date.

I starting to really feel depressed more and more often during the days.

I have been reading your posts and feel encouraging at times. Hope to get some advice from you and your team.

Thanks and with regards

Stacy

Market is bad, for sure, but if you are getting too few interviews, it could be due to your CV and cover letter not being attractive enough.

It is amazing how the world of job recruitment has evolved with technology. You now need to the “smart software” used to screen job applications! Try approaching NTUC U-PME to get a free two day course that will bring you up to date on how to redo your resume, how to tackle job interviews, and maximise your chances in today’s competitive jobsearch arena.
