Mass comms graduate with 8 years of experience jobless for 6 months

Dear Gilbert,

I hope this finds you well.

Firstly please accept my sincere thanks for making possible a website like “transitioning”. It appears that you are the only website that offers support to the unemployed.

I do not know how better to describe the quandary I am in other than I am trapped – viciously trapped in a vicious cycle that spirals down and down and down.

I am a Mass Comms grad with more than 8 years of experience as a writer, producer and director – why can’t I find a job?

Feel trapped, trapped, trapped !!!

I have not had a job for almost 6 months now, I need one, desperate for one and I just couldn’t get one.

What can I do? I feel like there is no way out of this black hole …

Editor’s note: We have forwarded the writer with our Ebook How to survive unemployment and making plan to speak with him soon.

Go online and find work as a freelancer since you’ve had experience in writing etc. There are tons of opportunities if you look around. Don’t limit your work on the ground within Singapore. Think outside the box.

Singapore is a place where they want you to fit within a certain box. Unfortunately you may not be able to do that anymore because you’ve been out of job. Sad I know. Speaking from experience here. It’s not your fault. It’s just the ecosystem has changed and will keep changing. If you can catch up with it again, great. If not, carve out your own path online and you can still make it big.

    All the best!
