Wear Black at Hong Lim Park Event For The Unemployed & Under-employed on 4 June (Sat) at 5pm

Dear Friends,

I will be organising a Hong Lim Park event on 4 Jun (Sat) at 5 pm for displaced PMETs affecting by our re employment policies here.

This event will be held under the umbrella of Transitioning.Org and is not affiliated with any political party.

Many of us know that the government has allowed in too many foreigners during  the past few years replacing many local Singaporeans in the process.

Thousands of Singaporeans are affected and many became under employed as they take on any secondary work just to survive. Some also  stay jobless for many months and years.

The event hopes to bring to attention the following matters:-

1. Employment Passes and S Passes  need to be further tightened up so that middle-classed jobless PMETs have a better chance at re employment opportunities

2. Re-examining the sole usage of retraining to tackle the main problem of unemployment.

3. Implementation of a hybrid plan to bring in minimum wage for low-salaried Singaporean workers.

4. Re examining the tripatite trade union structure  here which tends to favour the employers.

5. Consideration of a Employ Singaporean First mentality among the employers with proper legislation processes in place.

The event will likely involve a few speakers of fifteen minutes each at Hong Lim Park and should end by 6.30pm.

The event details will  be disseminated via online social media and the press for publicity purposes.

If you are currently employed do come out also and support those who are not as when we stay united, we can do much together.

If you are currently jobless or under employed, do participate in the event so that your voice will be heard as one.

Do let me know if you are able to support the event and email me your attendance at gilbert@transitioning.org.

See you this Saturday!

  1. PAPSUREWIN says:

    Dear Gilbert,

First you have to ask yourselves why these group of Singaporeans are unemployed or under employed.

    The reason is simple.

These group of Singaporeans are lazy and unmotivated as so rightly pointed out by ex PAP MP Wee Siew Kim Raffles Institution daughter Wee Shu Min.

They demand high salary but do not want to work and take responsibility that comes with it.

So, whose fault that they are being retrenched?

These group of Singaporeans should blame themselves instead of our talented, world class government.

    PAP SURE WIN

Hey papsurewin if you are here to stir up trouble to opposition supporters and try to press on with your probable fascist propaganda, then I shall tell you to f- off! Do not influence the readers here to take on elitist beliefs in Singapore! In HK, the govt does not need to tell people I want this I want that that’s why people there don’t blame govt! If govt dares they surely get kicked by the people! Why in Singapore govt is trying to run us like employees like a corporation? Isn’t that like fascism?

Hi Gotlostfirst Reader, PAPSureWin looks like a troll, someone who is online basically to get attention for himself, and the best way he can do it here on a website meant to help jobless people is to attack them personally by saying that they deserve it. For such people, we should not demean ourselves to even bother talking to him. If possible, we could even get the moderator Gilbert to delete his post, or just ignore him. Such trolls exist everywhere and even on Facebook. Someone told me before that his friends posted a message on Facebook saying pro-opposition supporters are just losers who do not work hard enough, which is not true considering that friend was well-to-do, well-educated and also blessed with a rich family to sponsor his studies. He just chose to support the opposition because the PAP’s policies were no longer able to help the underprivileged but became exactly the reasoning such people like PAPsureWin is using. So, for our own sake, just ignore PAPSureWin. He is the real loser.

  3. PAPSUREWIN says:

In any society, there are 2 types of people.

    1. The hardworking and motivated and
    2. The lazy and unmotivated

In the West, many hardworking and motivated individual are taxed heavily to feed the useless, lazy and unmotivated one.

The tax was so heavy that the hardworking and motivated individual find that it is better to be lazy and unmotivated as there is no incentive to work at all.

You guys should be grateful that we got a world class PAP government who had the foresight to steer Singapore away the financial mess of a welfare system that the West are now in.

Singapore now has the largest surplus among Asean and it able to pay top dollar for top talent as such we had quality people on top.

Here is picture of useless, lazy and unmotivated Singaporeans.

Now, why should Singapore waste precious resources on this group of habitually lazy and unmotivated individual?

Many Singaporeans agree with PAP policies thus far and again gave PAP a landslide victory in GE2011.

    This is the hard truth.

Yes, I share the same sentiment of both Get Lost 1st Reader and Kev J, to TOTALLY IGNORE PAPSUREWIN, such kana sai blogger !!!

  5. O says:

    Dear readers

Last evening I was at Hong Lim Park not because I was out of job. I am glad that I am lucky to be blessed with a job at the age of 47.

I was there to support the topic Employ Singaporeans First, as the cause of INFLUX OF FOREIGNERS had caused so much problems like Congested Public Transportation, Over Crowding through out the small island, Forced to speak Mandarin and Unhygenic services provided by the Chinese nationality etc. Life in Singapore is already so challenging, and yet we still have such stressful problems to go through, thanks to our Government!

  6. Neutral says:

I must agree with PAPSUREWIN, well what PAPSUREWIN say is correct we need to be motivated and hardworking, but we definitely do not need a government NEVER bother to listen to us!! To those out there who is jobless right now, don’t feel dishearten you will find a job one day as long as what PAPSUREWIN say motivation and hardworking!! So it boiled down to ourselves.

    cheers
