Dear Friends
I am safely back in Sydney with my family. It felt good to be with them again after two months away from home.
Sydney is warm as it is summer now but these few days it rains and so the weather is pretty cooling (around low 20s deg). It can shoot up to 35 deg C during summer.
Christmas is also pretty lame here and compared to Singapore, it is a festival that has nothing much to shout about. I have never really feel the atmosphere of the Christmas festivities here. Many people also travel abroad for holidays during this period.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the time taken to spend time with me while I was in Singapore. You know who you are. Thanks alot!
The day that I left I gave a talk to SAMH (Singapore Assoication for Mental Health) jobfair and Channel News Asia also filmed an interview there with me. They will broadcast the interview on 22 Dec. I will provide you more information later on this. It felt good also to be able to speak up for the jobless people in Singapore. Tune in to the broadcast if you want to know what I have spoken on this issue!
On another note, down at the customs when I returned from Singapore, I was also subjected to a luggage search and it felt degrading. This is the first time that I am being searched. As an Asian male travelling alone, I am the prime target for search for both drugs and other illicit substances. Many male Asians bring in drugs for sales and tarnished the image of all Asians here.
Do keep in touch and who know we may see each other again sooner than you thought!
Have a blessed Christmas ahead!
Regds
Gilbert
