Gilbert Goh organised a transition networking  group session for transitioners to get together and share their thoughts. And its free of charge for 2hrs session in a nice comfy room in Middle Road.
Our group was small with 3 of us with a professional counsellor in attendance. I understood later, our session is the 2nd instalment of of a earlier gathering.  The group will meet again in a fortnight again.

Our session began with a round of self introduction. It is healing for us to pour out our life history and current situation in a session. Many would feel, hey, I would rather keep my problem to myself. I was too thinking this way too but the group session changed my mind.

Our fellow friends shared many valuable infos which will come in handy for a transitioner. One of the session mate shared, he attended a 1- day NLP type psychological course in a community centre for mere $2.00, I hope I got that right. And he found that course was beneficial. I also came to know that  my fellow friend also attended and completed a ACTA course sponsored by our goverment which I am planning to begin. That solaced my mind and motivated me to complete it. Yes these are the small things that make a difference when things seem to be going no way.

Yes, in this time, what we need is knowledge and information which is comforting for our mind or else as they say famously, idle mind is the devil’s playground. I would even add further that, an ignorant mind is a vulnerable mind. We are at the mercy of our inner chatter. Unattended, inner chat, leads to delusion and intense confusion. Its like the packed  Mrt train coming from CBD area at 5.30pm.

All in all, I benefited in asking many questions pertaining to my upcoming counsellor course that I plan to pursue, from our in house counsellor Mr Alan, who graciously landed his ears and answered within his means. I would say, he did  a wonderful job. I would encourage more fellow transformers, oops fellow transitioners to come forward for such clinics to share your thoughts, vent your frustration if you need too or hug a friend. We all are so much better if we can lend a helping hand to one another in need.

Warm regards
