THAT nightmare scenario – sending an email bagging someone to the person being bagged – has become all too real for one Geelong woman.
The foul-mouthed email tirade, in which she called her company’s client “a d–k” and said he was “f—-d in the head”, appears to have been accidentally sent to the client instead of to the woman’s friend.
The abusive message has resulted in her losing her job after the client, a prominent Geelong businessman, cancelled all dealings with her company.
Poll: Did she deserve to be sacked?
The email has now gone viral, dropping into inboxes worldwide, and has even sparked a Facebook appeal for her to get her job back.
The nightmare began when the client sent her an email seeking further information on the cost of her company’s products after attempting his own calculations.
Her reply began with the words: “Hey, this guy is a d–k…as you know, I have been trying to get him to track and he has decided to do it himself in some kind of f*****d up way”.
The email ended with the sentence: “Why are all the people I deal with so f*****d in the head???”.
Within five minutes, the client’s reply was brief and to the point: “Thanks . . . recieved your feedback, cancel our business with you immmediately, please inform your boss.
It ended: “I’m involved in a few networks of business people around Geelong, I can insure that they will be all recieving a copy of your email.”
Some people have jumped to the woman’s defence, creating a Facebook page dedicated to getting her re-instated.
“Go (sacked woman) she tells it how it is. Woo woo,” fan Chris Hitchins wrote.
Shane Borczuch suggested the woman should be rehired because she was “hot”.
“Even with her lack of professionalism in how she handles the position of account manager for what’s a pretty big marketing and promotions company, it’s a simple mistake and, let’s be honest, who doesn’t think these thoughts on a daily basis regarding their customers/colleagues,” he wrote.
But other contributors on the social networking site were unsympathetic.
“I think she’s screwed,” Zhen Lim said. “(She) was his account manager, she should have shown him respect as a client but more importantly as a person.
“Her email is unacceptable talk in any sort of organisation.”
Attempts by the Herald Sun to contact the woman have been unsuccessful.
