Electrical Engineer, Southeast Asiabased in Singapore with REC Systems Pte Ltd
The REC Group is positioned in the solar energy industry as a company with broad presence across the value chain. REC is the world’s largest producer of silicon materials for photovoltaic (PV) applications, among the largest producers of PV wafers, and a significant producer of cells and modules. The REC group is currently developing its PV downstream activities and has recently incorporated the REC Systems APAC Headquarter in Singapore .
At REC Systems, our business areas include the development, financing engineering, procurement, construction, operation and sales of photovoltaics projects, from small-scale off-grid/on-grid applications to large-scale power plants.
In this full-time position, you will be responsible to support and provide engineering services and solutions for small-scale PV installations in Southeast Asia, as well as for larger grid-connected installations in Singapore . The PV market in SEA is currently mainly driven by professional off-grid solutions and small grid-connected systems. Some of the countries in SEA are also considering subsidies to develop large scale PV power plants.

Job description
Provide pre-sales support to evaluate project viability and develop preliminary designs to support sales efforts
Manage the design, permitting and installation of commercial solar electric systems (turn key solution). This includes performing site qualification visits, feasibility studies, developing electrical and structural system designs, BOM, mounting details, monitoring systems, developing the necessary design drawing sets, overseeing the permitting submission and procurement process and supporting the submission of interconnection applications and system commissioning – design to costs
Manage the submission of drawings to the appropriate agency in order to obtain the necessary permits to allow for construction of PV systems.
Coordinate development of a bill of material for each project based on the final approved design
Coordinating on-site project planning, installations, quality inspections and performance testing
Provide support during the inspection of system installations in order to obtain final inspection approval. Test, Analyze, and Repair Problem Inverters and Monitor Systems
Covering Off grid, On grid and Hybrid-scale system designs
Use software and tools to generate and simulate system designs and providing specification of hardware and components
Owner of technical specifications for PV systems when presenting proposals and for procurement purposes
Work with systems integrators and contractors to ensure the functionality of the product
Coordinate the design of multiple projects simultaneously
Technical support during Operations and Maintenance to O & M personnel
Continuous Improvement: Provide efficient and cost effective ways of installing PV systems and actively pursue the technology development at relevant components
Education level
College / University, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
College / University, Masters or equivalent
Personal qualities
Well developed communication skills
Knowledge of different Asian languages an added advantage

Engineering graduate with specific understanding in PV systems, both on-grid and off-grid applications
Based in Singapore but will be required to travel in the region
You must have a desire to bring REC Systems to the forefront of the market and wish to develop yourself further within the REC Group.
More than 3 years of working experiences in PV system design experience
Possess strong knowledge in PV modules, battery storages, inverter technologies and monitoring systems
Ability to read and understand architectural plans and schematics
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and self-motivated
Working experience in project-teams or in a project related environment is an advantage
Proficient in MS-Office
Excellent English language and written abilities
