ISC Education Centre, one of Transitioning’s collaborative mission partners, is currently offering a Professional-Conversion Training Programme (PCTP) especially catered for the retrenched PMETs. Their website is found at www.isc.edu.sg.

The UK Diploma in TESOL – Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, will be subsidised by ISC Education Centre to help the needy to quickly convert themselves to teaching professionals. The Diploma is conferred by The London Teacher Training College, UK (LTTC) and ASET, UK. The pre-requisites for this programme are at least 2 years of working experience plus a GCE ‘O’ credit in English or equivalent.
Each unemployed PMET only needs to pay SGD688 for this course which will be conducted over 2 months during the day. The one-time fee payment will include the UK registration and assessment fees, text book and study guides. The usual full fee for the diploma programme is more than SGD3000.
Readers who are interested in the programme need to email me at gilbert@transitioning.org for more details. Registration will close on 23 Mar 09.
However, we regret to inform you that this programme is strictly offers to the unemployed Singaporeans or PRs who meet the pre-requisites. Upon enrolment, they need to show the necessary documentary proofs of their
unemployment from their ex-employers or CDC.
