I want to say a big thank you to all for the very successful launch despite the heavy downpour. I was very encouraged and almost moved to tears. This gave me the impetus to move on in this venture together with you guys.

A total of more than 100 guests turned up despite the thundering rain and though I received as many as ten last minute cancellations via sms. It was a very touching reception for a first-time author.

It was essentailly a gathering of many good friends and supporters who have helped me through a very difficult period when I was unemployed. Many also have helped me financially when the chips were very down during the Sars period. To them, I can only say a big thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have to attribute much of my little success to this group of friends who stood by me during a very desperate situation.

The 50 books that the publisher brought down for the launch were also sold out and mnay returned home empty handed. We apologised for the slight loss of faith we have initially about the turnout.

Readers can now go to Rank Books website and order the books online. It is free of postage and the publisher will deliver it to you promptly upon any online order. It will also be cheaper than the bookstore retail price of $12.90.

We have also delivered about 200 books free of charge to the jobfair’s participants yesterday at Suntec City. Jobstreet, the employment online portal that we partnered with, did the distribution. All books were taken within an hour.

We solicit more donors who will provide funds for us to buy books for distribution to the unemployed at jobfairs or seminars. Readers can email me at gilbert@transitioning.org to participate in thsi worthwhile cause. The publisher will write you a receipt for any of such an order.

Lastly, I want to say a big thank you again to all my friends and supporters. We will try our best to do what we possibly can for those who are unemployed now.
