Letter From PMET Jobless Reader

Posted by Gilbert Goh 15 February, 2009

Dear Gilbert,

Sure no problem and believe quite a number of PMET also facing the same problem.

Went  CDC end of last year but had not received any reply from them cause their priorities are helping family below $1500.

Initially my household income was gross $5000 now drop by half to $2500 including CPF.

SPUR program are subsided courses and we still need to pay the fees which the applicants may not interested in and no guarantee a job after that.

I am taking a taxi course which is more generic and employable.

Just like to explore options in other countries like Australia heard plumbers pay quite good or China, Wafer fabs are building up!

Hi Lee,

Unfortunately, the job market will not be getting any better soon. It’s projected to get worse in the coming weeks as more SMEs and MNCs lay workers off

However, if you have an idea or project you like to execute during this period, why not check out my website http://www.ideaustry.sg It’s designed to help entrepreneurs with ideas or projects, looking for expertise or funding.

Alternatively, you can also sign up and see if you can get a contract position for projects which require your expertise.

Regards.
